Are you tired of living life on a emergency basis, due to an over-scheduled and over-spent lifestyle? People who never have enough time and money must realize that more time and more money will not solve their problem. Their problem is they can’t afford everything they want. What’s the solution, change what you want! Jesus teaches us to prioritize our time (Matthew 6:33 ), and to be good stewards with our money (Luke 16:9-11; 1st Timothy 6:17-19 ). This means we need to take inventory of what’s essential and decide what works! We will not have time for every sport or hobby that we and the kids would like to do. We may need to downsize our schedule, and commit ourselves only to that which is practical, which serves God and our family. We may need to sell luxuries and return to “free” things for entertainment, like playing board games with the family, or going to visit Christians who need encouragement. These things are just as enjoyable and cost a lost less! Let’s get real with who we are, and with what time and money we have. You do not have to live life constantly on an emergency basis. You can manage what you have, based on the priorities taught by Jesus Christ. |
