How to Become a Christian Whether you are sixteen or sixty, man or woman, and regardless of what race or income level you are, you need to be a Christian! God created all of us to be Christians. And he wants it to be our choice. “I’ve never done that,” is what many have thought. The important thing is that you become a Christian God’s way. God’s way is that you learn of Jesus Christ through the New Testament of the Bible. You must prove to yourself that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he is worthy to become the Lord of your life. Jesus commanded that his Gospel be preached to everyone, and that everyone must believe and obey it. (Mark 16:15-16) After you conclude you are going to make Jesus the Lord (Master) of your life, you need to quit sinning (repent), and resolve to obey the righteous teachings of Jesus. (Acts 2:38) But you’re not a Christian yet! You need to start life new, and you can, by having your sins washed away through baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-5) Now, you are a Christian. You are forgiven of your sins, you are right with God, your are in God’s family, and you have every blessing given by God through his Son Jesus Christ, including everlasting life! (Ephesians 1:3-14) What’s left then, is for you to join yourself to a fellowship with those who have obeyed the same Gospel, and continue your life as a Christian. This fellowship is called a “church of Christ”. (Romans 16:16; 1st Corinthians 12:13) Why not learn and obey the Gospel of Christ today! ********************************************************************* Call the Northeast church of Christ: (719) 597-6661 |

You may have a story similar to this one below, but here’s the point. Anyone and everyone can be saved, and can live a meaningful, controlled, powerful, and fruitful life in Jesus Christ. In Christ we have new life, a new family, and eternal hope!
Jason was 29 years old, and even though he was single, he had just finished living with a girlfriend, and this was the third time he had tried this kind of relationship.
He had just begun a new job and by chance a Christian, Wayne, introduced himself to the new arrival.
“Do you worship anywhere?”, Wayne inquired.
“I'm kind of layin' off of religion right now. Kind of had a bad experience…rather not talk about it,” Jason answered very courteously.
“Hey, I know you’re new here, and if there’s anything I can do for you, let me know”, Wayne offered.
“Thanks”, Jason replied.
“By the way, here’s a brochure on how to get into Jesus Christ. I don’t know what your religious past is, but I’d like you to look at it and just tell me what you think sometime”, Wayne invited.
Jason took the brochure and without any commitment said, “OK, thanks.”
A couple of weeks went by and Wayne saw Jason at his desk, and stopped and asked him how he was doing, and what he thought of the brochure. Jason said he was still trying to get over a bad religious experience, and kind of left it at that.
“Mind talking about it”, Wayne asked.
“I was molested by a priest when I was a boy,” Jason replied with a sigh.
The conversation turned to talking about immorality, hypocrisy, and even crime found, in all places, the church! Jason had been abused, and as a result he had decided that God, faith, and church were worthless.
Wayne said, “You’ve experienced some abuses and I don’t defend them one bit, but do yourself a favor and read about the stand which Jesus takes against these abuses. I want you to learn how you can build yourself on Jesus Christ the right way. You need to know there is truth, and you need to give it a chance in your life.”
Wayne offered, “I want to introduce you to my family. How about eating dinner with us Friday night. I want to get to know you better and show you some things about what we are doing as Christians.” It surprised Wayne when Jason said he would come.
This story ends with Jason spending about six weeks reading the Gospel of Jesus Christ for himself in the Bible, and having more discussions with Wayne to help him understand what he needed to know. Jason repented of his fornication and other sins, confessed his new faith in Jesus Christ, and was baptized into Jesus Christ. Jason is still a faithful Christian.
Wayne had never seen more relief shown by someone who had been saved in Jesus. Jason admitted how his sinful “relationships” kept becoming more confusing, complicated, and disappointing. He was ready to stop this lifestyle, and end this burden he had carried. For the first time he was new and his was free!
Surely, you can see yourself being saved, and living your life in Jesus Christ, just like Jason did. The New Testament proves that fornicators, thieves, and even murderers can be saved. You can be saved no matter who you are or what you've done.
