Are you tired of spiritual “quick-fixes” which result in quick failures. What happened? Have you been promised salvation and everlasting life if you would simply recite a short prayer, maybe the “sinner’s prayer”, which confesses that “I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and I give my life to you, Lord”? But it didn’t fix anything. There is still sin, there is still a lack of control, and there is still worry. It may surprise you that the entire New Testament of Jesus Christ never teaches this “sinner’s prayer”. It never teaches that a magical expression will solve all problems. The New Testament teaches that a believer must take a stand against sin through repentance (Acts 3:19 ). And a believer must confess that salvation is in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10 ). And a believer must be baptized to have their sins washed away (Acts 22:16 ). And, a believer must begin the Christian life as a babe, and then grow into maturity (1st Peter 2:1-3; 2nd Peter 3:18 ). This is not a quick-fix for all that ills us. Living as a faithful Christian is a building process. It begins by obeying the Gospel (Mark 16:16 ), and it continues by being faithful in Jesus Christ (1st Corinthians 15:58 ). You do not need a "quick-fix". You need the truth to fix your life God's way. |
